Meme Coins Face Uncertain Future as Real-World Asset Tokens Gain Traction

One of the most popular sectors in the crypto industry, meme coins, may be heading for a tough period ahead. According to Jeff Dorman, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at Arca, a digital asset investment firm, the hype around meme coins is fading as real-world asset (RWA) tokens gain mainstream adoption.

As reported by dailyhodl.com, Dorman predicts that if companies, universities, and governments start issuing their own tokens, the crypto investment landscape will undergo a major transformation.

Why Are Meme Coins at Risk?

Dorman argues that real-world asset (RWA) tokens provide clearer utility and tangible value compared to meme coins, which primarily rely on trends and community support to sustain their worth. He forecasts that more institutions will soon launch digital tokens offering real benefits to holders.

"When every company, university, city, and sports team starts issuing tokens, the distinction will become obvious," Dorman stated.

Furthermore, he highlighted Solana (SOL), DeFi projects like RAY, AERO, HYPE, JUP, AAVE, as well as AI-based assets and those driving digital wallet and stablecoin growth as long-term winners in the crypto space. On the other hand, meme coins are likely to see a significant decline in the coming years.
