On February 11, 2025, Tesla officially reported holding 11,509 Bitcoins in its annual filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as reported by news.bitcoin.com. With the current price of Bitcoin estimated at around $95,235, the total value of these holdings amounts to over $1.09 billion, or approximately IDR 17.51 trillion.
According to cryptopolitan.com, this disclosure reaffirms Tesla's commitment to cryptocurrency, despite the company having reduced its holdings in 2022. Data from Arkham Intelligence reveals that all 11,509 Bitcoins have been transferred to seven new digital wallets still managed by Tesla.
This move demonstrates that Tesla continues to maintain its involvement with Bitcoin, despite market volatility. Additionally, the company has enhanced the security of its digital assets by moving the Bitcoins to more secure wallets.
With this disclosure, Tesla further solidifies its position as one of the largest public companies holding Bitcoin worldwide. This decision reflects the company’s confidence in the long-term potential of cryptocurrency as part of their investment strategy.
