Several Western media outlets have reported that Mojtaba Khamenei, who was recently appointed as Iran’s Supreme Leader, owns a number of highly valuable properties in London. One of them even includes a luxury apartment located close to the Israeli Embassy.

The Telegraph revealed that Mojtaba owns two luxury apartments in the exclusive Kensington area of West London. These properties are estimated to be worth more than 50 million pounds sterling, or around Rp1.15 trillion, and are situated very close to Kensington Palace, the official residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

In addition, reports also mention a network of other properties linked to Khamenei in the Hampstead area of North London. In this district, which is widely known as “Billionaire’s Row,” there are approximately 11 luxury houses believed to be connected to him through business intermediaries and shell companies.

Overall, the total value of the property portfolio associated with this network is estimated to reach 200 million pounds sterling, or roughly Rp4.58 trillion. Many of these properties are reportedly rarely occupied, and some are even left in a neglected condition.

Security experts have also highlighted the location of the two Kensington apartments, which are situated very close to the Israeli Embassy. This proximity is considered to potentially pose security risks because it could allow monitoring of activities around the diplomatic mission.

“The two apartments with direct lines of sight are not merely part of a property portfolio, but could also function as a permanent surveillance platform,” said counter-terrorism expert Roger Macmillan, as quoted by British media on Wednesday (March 11, 2026).

These properties were reportedly purchased through a network of shell companies registered in the Isle of Man and managed through an intermediary named Ali Ansari. Ansari has been sanctioned by Western authorities due to alleged links to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), although he denies those allegations.

British authorities are also reported to have frozen several property assets connected to the network. This move is part of efforts to address suspected financial flows linked to activities that violate international sanctions.

Previously, Mojtaba Khamenei officially succeeded his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as Iran’s Supreme Leader following a decision by the country’s Assembly of Experts. He became Iran’s third leader since the 1979 Islamic Revolution and assumed leadership amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
