DIGIVESTASI - The year 2025 is approaching, which according to Chinese astrology, is known as the Year of the Wood Snake. What, then, are the predictions for Indonesia's economy in the coming year?

Feng Shui expert Suhu Hong Xiang Yi stated that Indonesia's overall condition is expected to remain stable, even as the global situation continues to face uncertainty and turmoil.

"Hopefully, Indonesia won't be too affected by global dynamics. Because when you look at the state of the world, there are still many uncertainties and challenges," he told detikcom on Saturday (December 28, 2024).

According to Suhu Xiang Yi, Indonesia’s economy is predicted to fare better than many other countries. However, global uncertainties will still have an impact, partly due to policies by the newly elected U.S. President, Donald Trump, which are anticipated to worsen the international landscape.

"The chaos in the world in 2025 will persist and grow more complex. We are fortunate to have a new president in Indonesia, but there is concern about the maneuvers of the new U.S. president, whose influence is widespread," he remarked.

Suhu Xiang Yi added that Indonesia will be in a relatively stronger position if it can maintain stability amid global uncertainty. If the global situation stabilizes, Indonesia could potentially experience significant growth.

In the economic sector, Indonesia is expected to have greater opportunities if it strengthens its agricultural sector and achieves self-sufficiency in food production. A stable governance system will further support domestic economic growth.

Additionally, prospects for investment and business in several sectors remain promising. Suhu Xiang Yi predicts that gold prices will perform well in the first half of 2025, though they may stagnate in the latter half of the year.

Indonesia’s property sector is also expected to experience positive growth, contrasting with trends in several other countries facing declines. “The property market in Indonesia is still promising, even though other nations are experiencing setbacks,” he concluded.
