Bank Indonesia (BI) reported a stronger expansion in economic liquidity in December 2025. Broad money supply (M2) grew by 9.6% year-on-year, accelerating from 8.3% growth in November 2025, bringing total M2 to IDR 10,133.1 trillion.

According to BI’s Executive Director of the Communications Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, the increase was driven by a sharp rise in narrow money (M1), which expanded by 14.0% year-on-year, along with a 5.5% annual growth in quasi-money.

Ramdan noted that the movement in M2 during December 2025 was mainly influenced by higher net claims on the central government and developments in bank lending.

Net claims on the central government grew by 13.6% year-on-year, up from 8.7% growth recorded in the previous month.

Meanwhile, credit disbursement in December 2025 rose by 9.3% year-on-year, exceeding the 7.9% growth seen in November 2025.

At the same time, net foreign assets increased by 8.9% year-on-year, slightly easing from the 9.7% growth recorded a month earlier.
