1. Have a long-term vision in life 
Bernard Arnault once recounted how he first visited China in 1991 and decided to open the first Louis Vuitton store there, despite the country's very low GDP. Today, decades later, Louis Vuitton is a renowned luxury brand not only in Japan but also around the world. 

"I remember when I first visited China in 1991...When I arrived in Beijing, all I saw were no cars, only bicycles, and no tall buildings. The country's GDP was... 4% of today's GDP." Nevertheless, we decided to open our first Louis Vuitton store in China.

Louis Vuitton is now the number one luxury brand in the country and around the world, he said as reported by Forbes, Friday (2/9/2024). He noticed that over the past 25 years, the desire for quality products has increased and purchasing power has increased.

Arnault's own career has made him one of the world's billionaires and one of the richest people in the world in recent years, but as he enters the world at the age of 74, his advice proves to be true.

3. Know what's happening at the grassroots level in your organization

Rather than focusing solely on the bottom line, Arnault believes in staying connected to the company and its employees and knowing what's happening at the grassroots level. This will give you a better understanding of how your team and company works in general, allowing you to improvise.

"I often tell my team to act as if we are still a startup. Don't go to the office too often. Stay close to your clients and designers while you work.  I'm always looking for branch managers. I want to see them working in the field, not in the office doing paperwork," Arnault told Forbes.
