Foreign investors continued their net selling activity in the Indonesian stock market during the period of March 30 to April 2, 2026, amid the weakening of the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) and declining trading activity.

According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp2.95 trillion over the week. In total, foreign purchases amounted to Rp21.82 trillion, while sales reached Rp24.76 trillion.

In line with these capital outflows, the JCI declined by 0.99% on a weekly basis to 7,026.78 from the previous level of 7,097.05. Throughout the week, the index reached a high of 7,207.16 and a low of 6,945.50, indicating relatively high volatility amid unstable market sentiment.

Moreover, the decline in the JCI was accompanied by a significant drop in trading activity. The average daily transaction value fell by 36.69%, while trading volume decreased by 8.62%. Market capitalization also declined by 1.69% to Rp12,305 trillion.

Foreign selling pressure was concentrated in large-cap stocks, particularly in the banking and commodity sectors. Major banking stocks such as BBRI, BBCA, BMRI, and BBNI were the primary contributors to the JCI’s decline during the week due to heavy foreign distribution. Additionally, commodity-related stocks such as ANTM, MDKA, and ENRG were also among the most heavily sold by foreign investors.

From a sectoral perspective, this condition was reflected in a 2.23% decline in the financial sector, followed by a 1.84% drop in the basic materials sector and a 1.52% decrease in the energy sector. Meanwhile, the non-primary consumer sector and the industrial sector still managed to record gains of 6.58% and 3.35%, respectively.
