Bank Stocks Under Pressure from Foreign Selling-Risk or Buying Opportunity?

Several stocks delivered substantial gains and secured positions among the top gainers during the February 23–27, 2026 period. These shares recorded the highest increases, with some surging by as much as 76% over the week.
Meanwhile, the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) declined by 0.44% over the same period, closing at 8,235.4 compared to 8,271.7 in the previous week.
Stock trading data on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for February 23–27, 2026 showed mixed movements by the end of the week.
The IDX’s market capitalization decreased by 1.03% to Rp14,787 trillion from Rp14,941 trillion in the prior week, representing a loss of Rp154 trillion.
According to IDX data, shares of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) led the list of top gainers or biggest profit-makers this week, soaring 76.86% from Rp121 to Rp214.
Other notable gainers included PT Armada Berjaya Trans Tbk (JAYA), which jumped 56.3% to Rp186; PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia Tbk (TKIM), which climbed 50.6% to Rp11,000; and PT Jantra Grupo Indonesia Tbk (KAQI), which rose 41% to Rp110.
Additionally, shares of PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA) advanced 40.48% to Rp4,650, PT Island Concepts Indonesia Tbk (ICON) increased 30% to Rp130, and PT Astrindo Nusantara Infrastruktur Tbk (BIPI) strengthened 28.95% to Rp294.
PT Intermedia Capital Tbk (MDIA) gained 27.27% to Rp84, PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Tbk (WMUU) rose 26.76% to Rp90, and PT MNC Digital Entertainment Tbk (MSIN) climbed 25.49% to Rp640.
Top Losers Stocks
Conversely, ten stocks caused significant losses for investors and were included in this week’s top losers list.
Among them were PT Indospring Tbk (INDS) and PT Satria Mega Kencana Tbk (SOTS). INDS shares plunged 49.59% to Rp1,230 from Rp2,440, while SOTS fell 41.67% to Rp1,260 from Rp2,160.
Other decliners included PT Sunson Textile Manufacture Tbk (SSTM), which dropped 34.74% to Rp930; PT Berkah Prima Perkasa Tbk (BLUE), which slid 27.94% to Rp4,630; and PT Royaltama Mulia Kontraktorindo Tbk (RMKO), which declined 24.86% to Rp665.
Furthermore, PT Fuji Finance Indonesia Tbk (FUJI) fell 22.13% to Rp366, PT Bersama Mencapai Puncak Tbk (BAIK) weakened 21.72% to Rp346, and PT Asiaplast Industries Tbk (APLI) decreased 21.53% to Rp328.
Finally, shares of PT Arkora Hydro Tbk (ARKO) dropped 20.43% to Rp8,275, while PT Ever Shine Tex Tbk (ESTI) slipped 20.16% to Rp206.
