AirNav Indonesia, also known as the State-Owned Air Navigation Service Provider of Indonesia, has reported that approximately 30 private jets have registered to land at Zainudin Abdul Majid International Airport in Lombok in preparation for the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit on October 14-15.

Kiki Adrian, General Manager (GM) of AirNav Lombok, revealed that the increase in the number of flights has been recorded from October 11 to 13. According to him, 'These private jets are owned by several companies interested in witnessing the race, and the estimated number is around 30.'

Furthermore, Kiki explained that the majority of these private jets originate from Jakarta, particularly from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport. Additionally, there are private jets arriving from Singapore. 'Private jets from Halim and Singapore will also participate. When compared to the previous year, the enthusiasm level is quite similar,' said Kiki.

AirNav Lombok has made various preparations to support the MotoGP Mandalika 2023 event, including managing air traffic, preparing human resources, and establishing flight safety procedures. Kiki added, 'We have reserved airspace above Mandalika to ensure the safety of airspace activities. This can be used in emergency situations, such as evacuations, drone monitoring, or controlled balloon flights.'

This will enable a quick response in emergency situations at the circuit, such as racer accidents or urgent medical situations, using a dedicated air route for helicopters to reach the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of West Nusa Tenggara Province. Even in cases where there are commercial flights passing through the airspace, AirNav Lombok will redirect commercial flight paths to prioritize emergency helicopters.
