Arifin Tasfrif, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), has instructed the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) to expedite the implementation of the One Price Fuel program this year. Mulyono, an Expert Advisor to the Minister on Downstream Oil and Gas Governance, revealed that the government's target is to complete the construction of 89 One Price Fuel distributors by the end of this year, with plans to add 71 additional distributors next year.
Mulyono explained, "The construction project for One Price Fuel distributors requires support from various stakeholders, including the central government, local authorities, and the business sector." This is part of the effort to ensure fuel price parity across Indonesia.
Previously, BPH Migas held a Coordination Meeting to Accelerate the One Price Fuel Program for the 2023-2024 period in the Maluku and Papua regions, specifically in Ambon, Maluku, on October 5, 2023.
The One Price Fuel program was initiated in 2017 with the goal of having 583 One Price Fuel distributors by 2024. As of August 2023, 461 distributors have been constructed, distributed across various regions in Indonesia.
Sentot Harijady Bradjanto Tri Putro, the Director of Fuel at BPH Migas, explained that this coordination meeting represents the next step after BPH Migas sent letters to 36 regents to accelerate the implementation of the One Price Fuel program in various regions.
Sentot added, "Local governments also play a role in addressing various challenges, finding appropriate solutions, and coordinating the timing of the acceleration program."
On the other hand, Nicodemus Ubro, the Acting Secretary of the Southeast Maluku Regency, reported that there are already potential partners and recommendations from regents for the South West Kei Besar and North East Kei Besar regions. The next step is to guide these potential partners to initiate the application process for requirements and permits.
Meanwhile, Imanuel J Maupala, Head of the Economy & Natural Resources Division in Southwest Maluku, stated that there are currently no potential partners for the Masela District and Mdona Hiera District due to challenges related to road access, a lack of electrical facilities, and limited land transportation in the area.
