Prakerja and Microsoft Launch AI Talent Program for 100,000 Indonesian Youth The Program Management of the Prakerja Card, in collaboration with Microsoft Indonesia, has officially launched the Talenta AI Indonesia program. This program aims to provide AI skills to 100,000 individuals across Indonesia. It is an extension of the Skills for Jobs Indonesia initiative launched by Microsoft and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (Kemenko Perekonomian) in early 2023.

In its implementation, Prakerja and Microsoft Indonesia are partnering with non-profit organizations Biji-biji Initiative and Skilvul as implementing partners. Dr. Denni Puspa Purbasari, Executive Director of the Prakerja Card Program Management, revealed that in this rapidly evolving world, AI presents a significant opportunity, not a challenge. The Talenta AI Indonesia program will help individuals understand and master AI.

This program offers self-paced learning modules in AI, data, and cybersecurity for free to 100,000 young talents, including alumni and applicants of the Prakerja Card program. These modules are designed for various skill levels, ranging from beginners to advanced. Additionally, the program provides modules that aid in career preparation, such as CV creation, job interview simulations, and soft skills development.

Out of the 100,000 participants, 1,000 will receive guided training from industry experts and attain Microsoft certifications. Furthermore, 200 participants will engage in bootcamps, innovation challenges, and job connect facilities to expand their professional networks.

Graduates of the Talenta AI Indonesia program who successfully earn Microsoft certifications will also gain exclusive access to the LinkedIn SATU Talenta community, connecting certified individuals with companies seeking talent.

The importance of this program is evident from the fact that a majority of Indonesian workers feel they lack the necessary skills for their jobs, according to the Microsoft 2023 Work Trend Index. Therefore, this program is expected to help Indonesia harness the potential of AI and prepare its workforce for the future.

Dharma Simorangkir, President Director of Microsoft Indonesia, emphasized that the use of generative AI can boost Indonesia's economic production and requires new thinking, skills, and training.

Over the past three years, the Prakerja Card Program has assisted over 17 million people in improving their competencies in Indonesia. The launch of the Talenta AI Indonesia program coincides with the introduction of other training initiatives under Prakerja, introduced by Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
