Shares of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) surged following the resignation of Patrick Sugito Walujo from his role as CEO of GoTo.
According to RTI Infokom, GOTO’s share price increased by 3 points, or 4.69 percent, as of 10:17 AM WIB. The stock was trading at Rp67 per share.
The trading volume for GoTo shares reached 5.1 billion shares, with a transaction value of Rp337.7 billion.
Patrick Walujo’s resignation from the CEO position was announced through an official disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
“Mr. Sugito Walujo has stepped down from his position as the company’s president director, and leadership will be continued by Mr. Hans Patuwo, who will be nominated as president director and chief executive officer,” said GoTo Director and Corporate Secretary R. A. Koesoemohadiani in an official statement on Monday (Nov 24).
GoTo plans to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) scheduled for December 17, 2025, to discuss the appointment of Hans Patuwo as the new CEO.
Koesoemohadiani explained that this leadership transition is part of a succession plan that has been comprehensively prepared by the board to maintain stability and strategic continuity as GoTo enters its next growth phase toward sustainable profitability.
“This nomination and transition process is part of a rigorous succession plan prepared by the board, reflecting the company’s commitment to ensuring stability, strategic continuity, and strengthened operational execution as GoTo moves into its next stage of growth toward long-term profitability,” she added.
GoTo also outlined Hans Patuwo’s track record, noting that he has spent nearly eight years within the Gojek, GoPay, and GoTo ecosystem. He joined as chief operating officer (COO) in 2018, focusing on driver-partner operations and transportation services.
Hans also spearheaded the development of GoTo Financial (GTF) as its president, helping it evolve into one of Indonesia’s most recognized fintech platforms.
