IHSG Expected to Climb to 6,900, Banking Stocks and SRTG Set for Gains

Phintraco Sekuritas forecasts that the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) will continue its upward momentum towards the 6,900 level on Tuesday (February 18, 2025). The index is expected to move within a resistance range of 6,900, a pivot of 6,700, and support at 6,550.

In its latest research, Phintraco Sekuritas recommends four banking stocks and SRTG, which have strong potential for investors.

On Monday (February 17, 2025), IHSG surged nearly 3% to 6,830, primarily driven by gains in blue-chip stocks, especially large-cap banking stocks and select conglomerate stocks.

"The strengthening of banking stocks was partly fueled by the planned share buyback by BBRI and BMRI. IHSG has a chance to test the resistance level of 6,900," Phintraco Sekuritas stated in its research report on Tuesday (February 18, 2025).

Dividend Sentiment and High Dividend Stocks

Phintraco Sekuritas also highlighted that positive market sentiment is being driven by expectations for final dividend announcements for the 2024 financial year.

"Typically, companies start announcing their final dividend payout schedules between March and April," the report noted.

At the current IHSG level, dividend yields on historically high-dividend stocks are becoming more attractive to investors.

However, despite market optimism, economic data remains underwhelming. Import growth was recorded at 4.68% (yoy), while exports contracted by -2.67% (yoy) in January 2025, both falling significantly below expectations.

"These figures are even weaker compared to December 2024," added Phintraco Sekuritas.

For today’s trading session, Phintraco Sekuritas recommends four banking stocks and SRTG with strong potential, namely BRIS, BBRI, BBNI, and BBCA.
