The positive results achieved by the Mate 60 Pro have prompted Huawei to set ambitious targets. The technology giant aims to sell up to 40 million units of the new smartphone in 2023.

Securities Times reported that Huawei increased shipments of its latest smartphones by 20% in the second semester. However, Reuters has not immediately responded to requests for comment on the report, as quoted on Wednesday (9/13/2023).

This achievement surpasses analyst Ming Chi Kuo's predictions. He stated that Mate 60 Pro could sell up to 12 million units within one year of its launch.

Meanwhile, its predecessor, the Mate 50 Pro 4G, sold 2.5 million units in 12 months. The Mate 40 Pro 5G, launched in 2020, sold 6 million units.

The Mate 60 Pro, released earlier this month, sold out quickly. It was reported that during the pre-order period of five days in China, this 5G smartphone sold nearly 1 million units.

Furthermore, physical stores and Huawei's official website announced that the product would only be available again in mid-September.

This smartphone serves as Huawei's entry into the 5G smartphone market after facing sanctions from the United States since 2019. The company appears to prove that they can produce 5G devices without relying on U.S. technology.

For your information, the Mate 60 Pro features a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1212 x 2616 pixels. The screen also supports a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

There are three punch holes on the front for the 13 MP (ultrawide) front camera, a ToF 3D sensor, and Face ID security feature.

On the back, three cameras are arranged in a circular module. It includes a 50MP main camera, accompanied by a 48MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens.

One of the advantages of the Mate 60 Pro is its ability to make satellite calls. Huawei offers four color options: black, white, green, and purple.

The Mate 60 Pro comes with 12 GB of RAM and three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Its price is set at 6,999 yuan or approximately Rp 14.6 million.
