PT Telkom has embarked on various innovations to support the development of Web3, such as the development of a halal certification platform and a blockchain-based loyalty points exchange platform for state-owned enterprises (BUMN). Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, the Director of Digital Business at TelkomGroup, has explained the role of Web3 in driving digital transformation in the Indo-Pacific region and Telkom's efforts to adopt Web3 and blockchain innovations. Fajrin made these statements during the Bali Annual Telkom International Conference (BATIC) 2023, which took place at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua Bali on September 7th.

Fajrin stated that Web3 has the potential to enhance the digital economy through cost reduction, improved security, and a unique and distinct user experience. Some Web3 technologies that can be further elaborated in the context of empowering the digital economy in the Indo-Pacific region include Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Decentralized Identity (DiD), and Supply Chain Transparency.

"Fajrin also revealed that Telkom has developed several innovations in the field of Web3 and blockchain technology, such as halal certification platforms, endowment (wakaf) platforms, and loyalty points exchange platforms. All three of these platforms have been developed using blockchain technology as their foundation," he added.

On the other hand, Manprit Singh, Chief AI Strategist at Microsoft, provided an explanation of how generative artificial intelligence is transforming the operational aspects of the telecommunications business. This includes improving network optimization and the ability to provide a more personalized customer experience.

Manprit outlined the transformative potential of generative artificial intelligence and its positive impact on innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness in the telecommunications industry.

During BATIC 2023, in addition to conference sessions, various types of activities were organized specifically to facilitate effective information exchange and active participation, including meeting and networking sessions. The event also featured exhibitions by various partners showcasing their latest products and innovations. To facilitate participants, the BATIC App digital platform was available, allowing attendees to connect with others relevant to their needs and enhancing efficiency in meetings and discussions.
