DIGIVESTASI - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) spoke at the 22nd Anniversary of the National Movement for the Eradication of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (APU PPT) at the State Palace, Jakarta, in the field of Money Laundering (TPPU). technology-based patterns must continue. According to him, efforts to tackle ML need to be two or three steps ahead of the perpetrators, especially in terms of international cooperation. 

 

"The treatment of ML must be comprehensive. We must be two or three steps ahead of the parties in building international cooperation, strengthening regulation and transparency, enforcing non-discriminatory laws, and utilizing technology," he explained. In addition to ML, Jokowi reminded his staff to remain vigilant against the threat of terrorist financing. According to him, the threat of terrorist financing needs to be continuously monitored and prevented. 

 

"I hope PPATK and related ministries/institutions can further enhance synergy and innovation," the President said.  
Jokowi also urged officials to continue efforts to rescue and return state funds through asset confiscation and currency restriction laws. According to the President, the regulation is still being processed by the House of Representatives.

 

The ball is rolling because we have to return what belongs to the nation and we have to return what belongs to the people. Those who commit violations must be responsible for the losses they cause to the nation.
