DIGIVESTASI - SEC Removes Lawsuit Against Ripple, Sparking Speculation in Crypto Community, The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has recently removed its lawsuit against fintech company Ripple from its official website, sparking debate within the crypto community about the agency’s future plans. Some see this move as a potential victory for the company, while others remain uncertain.
Jeremy Hogan, a partner at Hogan and Hogan law firm, was asked by a market participant about the lawsuit's disappearance from the SEC's website. Initially, Hogan speculated that the lawsuit might have been moved to the “appeals cases” section. However, he later corrected himself, explaining that the SEC website does not have a section for appeals. He added that the legal action is still listed on the actual appeals court website without any new filings.
On X (formerly Twitter), members of the crypto community have been discussing why one of the SEC’s most significant cases was removed from its website. Some predict that the lawsuit will be resolved within weeks, pointing to the appointment of pro-crypto Mark Uyeda as Acting Chairman of the SEC.
However, it’s important to note that the new SEC Chairman is unlikely to take office until the end of the year. Industry participants remain doubtful that the Acting Chairman will cancel such a significant lawsuit, particularly one involving Ripple.
