DIGIVESTASI - The price of red bird's eye chili continues to show an upward trend in early January 2025. According to the latest data from the National Food Agency's price panel released on Monday (January 6, 2025) at 4:30 PM WIB, the average price of red bird's eye chili has reached IDR 71,260 per kilogram.

This figure reflects an increase of 3.95% compared to the previous day, or approximately IDR 2,710. Previously, the price of red bird's eye chili had experienced a sharp decline of 46.27%, from IDR 68,550 to IDR 36,830 per kilogram earlier in the morning.

In several markets, the price of red bird's eye chili has reportedly exceeded IDR 100,000 per kilogram. Responding to this information, the Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi, requested specific data on the locations of the markets experiencing the price surge. He also expressed his readiness to conduct an on-site review.

Quoting from liputan6.com, during an interview at Graha Mandiri, Jakarta, on Monday (January 6, 2025), Arief stated, "If there are chilies priced at IDR 100,000, let us know. We will facilitate discussions and can visit the market together," said Arief.
