DIGIVESTASI - Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang visited Indonesia to attend Indonesia AI Day 2024, hosted by Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The event also featured prominent figures, including Indonesia's State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir and GoTo CEO Patrick Walujo.

During the discussions, Huang praised Indonesia’s immense potential in the technology sector, particularly due to the advancements in internet infrastructure developed over the past few years.

"Indonesia is one of the most advanced countries in Southeast Asia in terms of internet infrastructure development. Now, we are about to build a new, even more significant infrastructure that will support the growth of startups and new services that benefit the public," Huang stated on Saturday, November 16, 2024.

AI Development in Indonesia

The new infrastructure Huang referred to pertains to advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). Nvidia, as a global leader in AI technology, is expanding its presence in Indonesia through a strategic collaboration with IOH. One notable outcome of this partnership is the launch of the **'Merdeka Cloud'** platform, designed to assist local companies and startups in developing AI-based services.

Additionally, the collaboration between Nvidia and IOH has led to the establishment of **Solo Technopark**, Indonesia's first AI hub, which aims to become a center for innovation within the local technology ecosystem.

Huang emphasized the importance of integrating the internet with AI, highlighting that AI can significantly enhance the utility of the internet. He noted that AI can act as a personal tutor, helping individuals learn skills relevant to their daily work.

"If internet infrastructure communicates in HTML, this new infrastructure will communicate in Bahasa Indonesia and be capable of comprehensively summarizing data. This is an extraordinary breakthrough," Huang remarked.
