China Investment Corporation Gandeng Danantara Indonesia Perluas Investasi di Berbagai Sektor Strategis

The Indonesia Investment Authority (Danantara) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Investment Corporation (CIC) to explore joint investment opportunities across multiple sectors in Indonesia, the ASEAN region, and China.

Danantara Indonesia’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rosan Roeslani, highlighted the transformative potential of this collaboration. He emphasized that this partnership is a shared commitment to reshape the region’s economic landscape.

“With over 800 state-owned enterprises in our portfolio, Danantara Indonesia is prepared to take the lead in channeling strategic capital toward green industries, food security, and digital transformation. This is how we build Indonesia’s future economy—and strengthen our global position,” Rosan stated in a written release on Tuesday (May 27, 2025).

The MoU outlines the creation of a framework for potential joint investments between Danantara and CIC, with a focus on generating measurable development impact and delivering optimal investment returns with appropriate risk adjustments.

A key component of this agreement includes the joint assessment of a China-ASEAN investment platform—an investment fund proposed to operate across a wide range of sectors such as industrial manufacturing, consumer goods, healthcare, and technology, where both countries have strong growth potential.

Rosan further elaborated that the cooperation between CIC and Danantara represents a strategic synergy of mutual priorities: CIC’s mandate to manage China’s foreign reserves through global investment diversification, and Danantara’s role as a long-term engine to reinvest Indonesian state assets into the industries of the future.

Previously, Danantara Indonesia engaged in a series of strategic meetings with Chinese counterparts held on May 20–21, 2025, in Beijing to discuss the planned investment partnership.

This visit was part of the official delegation of the Republic of Indonesia, led by the National Economic Council (DEN), and coincided with the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Indonesia–China diplomatic relations and the 70th anniversary of the Asian–African Conference.
