Freeport boss Richard Adkerson to step down after 20 years in charge of the company

DIGIVESTASI - Richard C. Adkerson's tenure as CEO of Freeport-McMoRan will end after 20 years. The information was conveyed by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati after meeting with Richard.  Richard will be replaced by Kathleen L. Quirk, who is currently Freeport-McMoRan's CFO.

Sri Mulyani said many things were discussed at the meeting. One of them is the state of the world economy. "We exchanged views on many things, ranging from the global economic situation which is still very volatile, the largest American energy conference in Houston, to an overview of the current condition of the global copper market," Ms Indrawati said.  In addition to Mr. Richard, the meeting was also attended by Mr. Tony Wenas, President and Director of PT Freeport Indonesia.
