Foreign Investors Snap Up These Stocks Ahead of Long Weekend – See the List!

The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) has been riding a positive trend over the past month. Even ahead of the long weekend, the index managed to notch gains, albeit modest ones.

 

On Friday (May 9, 2025), the JCI inched up by 0.07% to close at 6,832.80. During the trading session, 362 stocks declined, 258 stocks gained, while 340 remained unchanged. Market activity was relatively quiet, with a total transaction value of Rp8.99 trillion, involving 18.46 billion shares exchanged in 1.08 million trades.

 

According to Refinitiv, nearly all sectors ended in the green. The healthcare sector led the gains with an increase of 0.89%. Utilities followed with a 0.68% rise, and the industrial sector climbed 0.59%.

 

Throughout last week, the JCI spent most of its time in positive territory. The only session that ended in the red was Thursday (May 8, 2025), when the index fell by 1.42%. As a result, the index posted a weekly gain of 0.25%. However, year-to-date, the JCI is still down by 3.49%.

 

Meanwhile, foreign investors were still actively selling, with total net foreign outflows amounting to Rp562.68 billion across all market segments. This included Rp498.78 billion in net sales on the regular market and Rp63.90 billion in the negotiated and cash markets.

 

On the other hand, foreign investors also recorded net buying in several stocks, helping to cushion the index from deeper losses. PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. (ANTM) was the top pick among foreign investors, with net purchases of Rp141.47 billion. This was followed by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI) with Rp69.51 billion and PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (BRIS) with Rp55.35 billion.

  6. PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk. (DSSA) – Rp14.43 billion

  7. PT Darma Henwa Tbk. (DEWA) – Rp10.13 billion

  8. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA) – Rp10.12 billion

  9. PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk. (ERAA) – Rp8.16 billion

  10. PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk. (MEDC) – Rp8.03 billion
