Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry, and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, has revealed that a US-based technology company is planning to invest in Indonesia in the near future.
"Hopefully, in the near future, there will be a major investment from the US in the technology sector, which will be quite significant," Rosan stated during the seminar "The Impact of Tariff Wars on Indonesia's Export Opportunities" at Menara Kadin, on Tuesday (March 25, 2025).
However, Rosan has not yet disclosed the identity of the company, as the investment process is still underway.
"We hope to make an official announcement within the next two to three months. Looking at current trade trends, the outlook remains positive," he added.
Echoing Rosan's statement, Deputy for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM, Nurul Ichwan, also confirmed that the company's identity remains confidential at the request of the involved parties.
"The company is from the United States, but we can't disclose the details yet because they have requested not to make it public for now, considering their status as a publicly traded company," Nurul explained.
The government is awaiting the company's official announcement before providing further details on the investment plan.
"So, we’ll wait for their official statement in the next two to three months, God willing," Nurul concluded.
