DIGIVESTASI - Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka were officially inaugurated as President and Vice President for the 2024-2029 term on Sunday (20/10/2024). This pair received significant backing from several prominent business figures, including those whose companies are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

Some of the entrepreneurs supporting Prabowo include Aburizal Bakrie and Pandu Sjahrir. Additionally, a number of businesspeople previously close to PDIP politician Maruarar Sirait, such as Aguan, Prajogo Pangestu, Franky Widjaja, and Boy Thohir, have shifted their support to Prabowo.

Aburizal Bakrie is known to have several publicly listed companies, including PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR), PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR), PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS), PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG), PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA), and PT Viva Media Asia Tbk (VIVA). Other companies under his control include PT Intermedia Capital Tbk (MDIA), PT Bakrie Sumatera Plantations Tbk (UNSP), PT Bakrieland Development Tbk (ELTY), PT Graha Andrasentra Propertindo Tbk (JGLE), and PT Bakrie Telecom Tbk (BTEL).

Kaesang Pangarep, son of President Jokowi, has connections to PT Panca Mitra Multiperdana Tbk (PMMP), while Prabowo’s family is linked to PT WIR Asia Tbk (WIRG).

Another key company associated with the Golkar party is MKTR, owned by the Maktour Group, led by businessman Fuad Hasan Masyhur, who is the father-in-law of Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo. Pandu Sjahrir, meanwhile, holds shares in PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (TOBA), which is affiliated with senior Golkar member Luhut Binsar Panjaitan. TOBA, together with PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO), is developing the Electrum electric motorcycle business, led by Pandu.

Aguan, founder of Agung Sedayu Group, is known to control PT Pantai Indah Kapuk Dua Tbk (PANI) through PT Multi Artha Pratama (MAP). Meanwhile, Prajogo Pangestu has attracted market attention with the rise in share prices of his companies, including PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN), PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk (TPIA), PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk (CUAN), and PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT).

Support also comes from Boy Thohir, brother of State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, who has openly backed Prabowo-Gibran. Boy holds shares in eight companies, including PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO), PT Trimegah Sekuritas Indonesia Tbk (TRIM), PT Wahana Ottomitra Multiartha Tbk (WOMF), PT BFI Finance Indonesia Tbk (BFIN), PT Adi Sarana Pratama Tbk (ASSA), PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA), and PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO).
