DIGIVESTASI - The President and Vice President-elect, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, are rumored to be adding new ministries/institutions. Most recently, they discussed the establishment of a National Investment Fund (DIN) and a Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure. Chairman of the National Young Entrepreneurs Volunteers (Repnas), Anggawira, confirmed the discussion about DIN and the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure by Prabowo-Gibran, in addition to the discourse on the formation of the National Nutrition Agency and the State Revenue Agency that had been discussed earlier.

“Yes, it has entered the conversation,” he told Bisnis, Sunday (6/10/2024).

Anggawira, who also serves as Deputy Commander of the Prabowo-Gibran Young Voters National Campaign Team (TKN Fanta), explained that the National Investment Fund (DIN) is designed to manage state investment in strategic projects. According to him, the DIN model is likely to follow the concept of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) or Singapore-based Temasek.

In addition, Anggawira also revealed that the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure will serve to coordinate infrastructure projects across ministries, including the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), the Ministry of Transportation, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). In fact, currently the government already has the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), which is under the Ministry of Finance and manages funds amounting to Rp160 trillion.

INA itself was established in 2021 based on Presidential Regulation No. 74/2020 concerning Investment Management Institutions. This institution plays an important role in connecting potential investors with prospective projects and also manages central government investment.

With Prabowo-Gibran's inauguration just two weeks away, only one institution has been officially established, the National Nutrition Agency, as stated in Presidential Regulation No. 83/2024. This agency has received a budget allocation of IDR71 trillion and is ready to carry out its duties in providing free nutritious food.
