DIGIVESTASI - Not all jobs will be replaced by artificial intelligence. Microsoft founder Bill Gates revealed that there are at least three professions that are immune to the onslaught of technology. The three fields are careers in alternative energy, health biosciences, and AI development, and Gates also said that he is investing in all three fields.

Gates also acknowledged his increasing focus on AI. In his post about his 2024 predictions, he said everyone now has a better understanding of the types of work that AI will do and support.

As quoted from the Daily Mail, Gates said on Tuesday (April 16, 2024), "We are becoming more aware of what kind of work AI can do on its own and what it can do as a co-pilot. I can now understand that better," he said.

Gates experimented with the use of AI last year. He said he used it for "serious things" as well as games.

"The year 2023 will be the first time we use artificial intelligence for work and other serious purposes, not just tinkering and parodying song lyrics for our friends," he explained.  Over time, Gates added, it became clear that AI could be used to improve many different things. From education to mental health.

"This is what motivates me to ensure that these technologies help reduce, not increase, the disparities that exist in the world," Gates said.
He cited the healthcare sector as an example, where AI chatbots can be used to help patients learn about and consider their HIV risk.
