DIGIVESTASI - Microsoft Confirms Issue with Windows 10 and Windows 11 Updates in January 2025

Microsoft has confirmed an issue related to updates for Windows 10 and Windows 11 in January 2025. This problem specifically affects systems running Citrix Session Recording Agent (SRA) version 2411, causing error disruptions in enterprise environments.

According to a report by Gizchina, the error appears during the final stage of the installation process. Although the system successfully downloads and begins the installation without issues, an error message appears during the final restart. The message informs users that "Something went wrong, don't worry, the changes will be rolled back," and the update is ultimately canceled without making any changes to the system.

Citrix explained that this issue is caused by an incompatibility with certain driver files. The bug only affects the latest version of Citrix SRA, released in November 2024, while earlier versions are unaffected. Citrix SRA is used by companies to monitor user activity within Citrix applications. Home users who do not use this tool are not impacted by the bug.

The versions of Windows affected by this issue include:

  • Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025
  • Windows 11 (versions 24H2, 23H2, and 22H2)
  • Windows 10 version 22H2
