DIGIVESTASI - PT Pertamina (Persero) through PT Pertamina Patra Niaga announced that starting June 1, 2024, the purchase of 3-kilogram LPG cylinders will require the use of an ID card (KTP) to ensure the subsidy is accurately targeted. "We inform you that starting June 1, the purchase of 3 kg LPG will require an ID card," said the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, during a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission VII in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday (May 28, 2024).

Riva explained that all distribution agents have been recording consumer purchases of LPG and entering them into an application called the Merchant Application or MAP. As of April 2024, a total of 253,365 active bases distributed 3 kg LPG cylinders, and of that number, 98.8 percent had recorded at least one transaction in March 2024.

"This data update is as of April 30, 2024, and the process of recording each transaction is still ongoing," Riva explained. A total of 221,615 bases or 88 percent of the total bases recorded 100 percent of their distribution transactions in March 2024. "In terms of cylinder volume, up to April 30, 98 percent of transactions have been recorded in the merchant application," he added.

As a result of this recording, Riva continued, there are already 41.8 million National Identification Numbers (NIK) registered under the targeted LPG subsidy, with 85.9 percent of registrants or around 35.9 million NIKs coming from the household sector. Additionally, there are 5.8 million NIKs from the micro-business sector, 70,300 NIKs from retailers, 29,600 NIKs from targeted fishermen, and 12,800 NIKs from targeted farmers.

Riva mentioned that the number of household and micro-business consumers conducting transactions has continued to increase during the January–April 2024 period. "For the targeted farmer and fisherman sectors, the numbers are quite stagnant," Riva said.
