"Give it back to the people. Rediscover the early charm of social networking with modern updates. "Friendstar is better than ever for people," the next sentence reads. There is a field below this sentence where you can write your email. If you want to fulfill this requirement, you might want to try Friendster early. Yes, Friendster still seems to be hiding its presence on social media. So far more than 20,000 people have queued up.ai

History of Friendster
Friendster is the first social media known to the Indonesian public. It was founded in 2002 by a Canadian programmer named Jonathan Abrams and began operating in 2003. The name Friendster consists of two syllables: "Friend" which means friend and "Napster" which means phenomenon.

Friendster became very popular in the 2000s among young people who wanted to make friends online. In June 2008, Friendster had 37.1 million monthly active users, with the majority of users coming from Asia. The total number of users in the same year reached 115 million. As a result of these achievements, Friendster received over $50 million in funding from various venture capital firms, including Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield & Byers, and Benchmark Capital.

Previously, in 2003, Google offered $30 million to acquire Friendster, but this offer was rejected.
When Facebook launched in 2004, Friendster's reputation began to decline. Friendster revolutionized the platform, but Facebook managed to reach its users better. Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook quickly began to overcome Friendster's shortcomings and gradually changed its existence. Facebook was able to offer more features and fewer bugs.

As the number of users of the site continued to decline, Friendster was finally sold in 2009 to a Malaysian company called MOL Global for $40 million. Friendster then turned into an online gaming website. On May 31, 2011, we started deleting the data of users who previously tried Friendster. In fact, Facebook won the game by draining Friendster of all its users.

Now, Friendster is planning a comeback and certainly wants to continue its previous success. It is still unclear when Friendster will be officially released. But we'll see what interesting things will happen with this nostalgic social media.
